Holy Shit

Ok. I suppose everyone knows about the book by Dan Brown, Da Vinci Code. Do you remember the reference to a picture called Madonna Of The Rocks/Virgin Of The Rocks (VOTR)? This para is from a book i was reading- Secrets Of The Code. The para is an excerpt from a para by Lynn Picknett

here it goes-
"...We should take a look at one of his other religious paintings, VOTR ... The following revelation is so sensational, so apparently ludicrous, as to appear the product of a Freudian delusion, or an infantile fantasy. Yet it should be remembered that Leo (da vinci) was primarily a hoaxer, a joker and illusionist- and that he hated the holy family ... clive and i wrote in the Templar Revelation that Leo was subtle in presenting his secret heretical code "for those with to see" and did nothing that was "the equivalent of sticking a red nose on st peter." But as we discovered more recently, we were wrong.
Do not think of the reverential hush of the great art galleries ... Think more of giggling school boys passing naughty scribblings behind the bike sheds ... A clue lies in the title of the painting- "rocks" was italian slang for testicles, ... Equivalent of the modern term-balls. And so it is that the reason for the mass of rocks above the holy family becomes shockingly obvious.
Almost growing out of the Virgin's head are two huge male "rocks"- topped with a massive phallus that rises to the very skyline, comprising no less than half the painting. The offending article is created out of a mass of rock, yet it is clearly discernible, and is even impudently topped with a small spurt of weeds. ... This is Leo the hoaxer and the heretic at his most audacious- and vicious. He created the grotesque make appurtenances deliberately, no doubt perversely and savagely inspired by the organisation commissioned by him ... With a giant penis growing out of her head, he is clearly saying "to those with eyes to see " that this is no Virgin.

Here are some visit-able places that you've probably never even heard of. Well, delhi is full of monuments, and you can't expect each of them to get the same attention can you?

Don't tell me.
First off, Leo paints nudes.
And then, he paints cryptic sexual paintings?

If you ask me, I think he is just a bit too obsessed.

While you're at it don't miss the one my friend Lyla posted on my blog, Divertimento da Vinci. It's called: "Do You See Leonardo's Hidden Penis?":

yup, he's obsessed.
Don't you know some people think he's gay?
he's apparently been accused of sodomy twice. And he never married.
hmmm... Suspicious!

And yeah, massimo, i'll do that!
Keep visiting!

He was a genius please don't say anything that is uninvited ok invited, but still you have no right at all to say anything like that to one of the greatest minds our species has ever produced.

Freedom of speech is ok but please don't insult him, he's one of the few who I idolize.

Yeah, I heard those theories about him being gay.

Seriously, Anuj, you're coming across as some bigot. If he paints nudes, we can say that he paints nude. And it won't be insulting him. It's stating a commonly known fact.
Or is the him being homosexual that's troubling you?
In any case, if he were homosexual, saying that he was a homosexual is about as insulting as saying someone is heterosexual.
A bit narrow-minded of you, dontcha think?

Nah what I was trying to say was that I didn't take it something like an insult but rather I think that such people should be above being the butt of jokes, "ooh he painted nudes ooh he's gay ooh",. see I really respect him for what he is a genius like I respect Alan Turing, Hyapatia, Carl Sagan, Goddard it doesn't matter if they were homosexual or perverts or anything, to me what they did transcends all of this.

It really bugged me you know how we insult the greatest our species has ever produced, it still bugs me and I am no bigot , I believe in the freedom of speech so go ahead and say whatever you want he's greater than anything you say. I tend to think myself to be above such racial, religious, nationalistic, sexual chauvinisms but apparently the rest of humanity is not and we tarnish the legacies of women and men who have strived to bring us to what we are today. We look further than them only because we stand on their shoulders. Honor that.

Umm, I DON'T THINK THAT BEING HOMOSEXUAL IS AN INSULT!!

Alan Turing was homsexual and I really admire him for his courage, my point was something else i.e. the mockery of intellectuals, sigh.
